Psychological Therapy Services
Psychological Therapy Services
I offer psychological therapy to adults from 18 years plus and consultation and/or clinical supervision to professionals. My work is grounded in over 30 years of experience in the NHS and draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO-DBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). I was trained and accredited in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for over 15 years and whilst I no longer deliver this model formally, it continues to influence my practice. I am also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) which also inform the therapies that I deliver.

I work with clients struggling with:
Anxiety and persistent low mood
Sleep disturbances
Emotional eating and weight concerns

Therapy is offered in a compassionate, collaborative manner, tailored to your goals and readiness for change.
Therapeutic Approaches Offered
I am trained and experienced in a number of specialist therapies. Interventions are selected based on clinical need and client preference.
Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO-DBT)
An evidence-based treatment designed for individuals who cope through excessive self-control. Particularly helpful for chronic depression, anxiety, anorexia nervosa, and obsessive traits. This is a behavioural treatment and involves learning specific skills to help manage social interactions in order to enhance social connection and intimacy. RO-DBT typically involves individual therapy once a week and a skills class once a week for a minimum of 32 weeks.
Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
A collaborative therapy that helps clients understand problematic patterns in relationships and behaviour, rooted in early experiences. Sessions range typically from between 16 and 24 sessions. CAT is an integrative model and I typically incorporate other techniques such as dream analysis, story telling and trauma processing techniques.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
A structured therapy used to process targeted traumatic memories to reduce the emotional distress they cause and alleviate PTSD symptoms. Sessions typically range from 10 sessions upwards.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
A gentle, non-pathologising model that works with inner parts or subpersonalities, helping clients to heal from trauma and internal conflict. This approach helps to build self compassion and consequently relationships also improve.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
A compassionate and experiential approach designed to help clients deepen their awareness of emotional needs and work through emotional pain. We tap on acupressure points to either regulate emotions or process emotional disturbance.
